Kevin Jones (born August 28, 1989 in Mount Vernon, New York) is an American college basketball player for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

High school

Kevin Jones attended Mount Vernon High School in Westchester County, New York. In high school Jones played alongside current Rutgers guard Michael Coburn and forward Jonathan Mitchell. Jones averaged 23 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks per game as a senior. He helped lead Mount Vernon to New York state PHSAA championships in 2006 and 2007. Jones played AAU with current Syracuse forward Mookie Jones (no relation) on the Westchester Hawks. Jones was named a Parade All-American in 2008.[1]

College career

Kevin Jones is currently a Sophomore and a starting forward on the West Virginia Mountaineers

Freshman Year

In his first year Jones came off the bench and played significant minutes for the Mountaineers. At the end of conference play, he scored in double figures in 6 of his final 9 games against Big East opponents including a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win against Notre Dame and a team high 19 points in a loss to Louisville.

Sophomore Year

In his second year Kevin Jones was one of the most consistent players on the Mountaineers roster. He score in double figures in 29 of the 35 games he played in, including a career high 23 point performance against Cleveland State.
